Basketball Jerseys Need To Know

Basketball Jerseys Need To Know

Whether you’re coaching men’s, women’s, or co-ed basketball teams, having jerseys that fit and look great is key. When players are comfortable in their uniforms and feel good about how the team looks, they’ll be more confident out on the floor. If you’re beginning your search for new basketball jerseys, there are several things to keep in mind as you come to a final decision—the cut, type of fabric, and visual design are all crucial components that create successful, exciting jerseys. Maybe you know how you’d like them to look but aren’t sure about the cut or fabric that would suit your team best, here is our guide or the specifics that you need to know.

Jersey Cut

The cut of your team’s basketball jerseys plays a huge role in how your players will look on the court. Many of these have scoop or V-neck collars, as well as side panel or shoulder inserts. Depending on the type of team you have—recreational, high school, collegiate, or other—you may wish to have a specific look for your jerseys. At Dynamic Sports, we carry three different cuts to choose from. Here are the specifics on each:

  1. Game: The Game cut jersey features a flatlock seam construction with 4” side panel inserts. These jerseys can be ordered with a V-neck or fusion neck.

  2. 400 Series: Like the Game jersey, the 400 Series also features a flatlock seam construction. The primary differentiator lies in its shoulder inserts and the front panel that wraps to the back. These jerseys can also be purchased with a V-neck or fusion neck.

  3. Retro: The Retro cut pays homage to basketball styles of the late 20th century, with a crew neck, straight hemmed bottom, neck and arm trim, and serged seam construction.

Each of these is also available in women’s and can be ordered as a single or double-ply reversible jersey. If you’ve never seen this before, you may find that you love it! The double-ply reversible options are 2-in-one jerseys, so they’re simultaneously your home and away game colors. Your players need only to reverse their jerseys for away games, so it’s a cost-effective avenue to consider.

We also offer Practice Reversible jerseys for non-game days. These allow your team to practice drills and plays effectively with style. These are built with a flatlock seam construction and a straight hemmed bottom with two panels and a round neck.

Jersey Fabric

Another significant factor when choosing new basketball jerseys is the type of fabric. They’re often made of moisture wicking materials that help keep wearers dry and comfortable, however, there are many of these. At Dynamic, we offer five of these fabrics that each will offer something unique for basketball jerseys. While you can’t go wrong with any of these, some may better suit your team than others. Here are the specifics on each:

  1. Dyna Dry: The Dyna Dry material is a flat-backed mesh made of 100% polyester. It does a great job of wicking away moisture and is a popular choice.

  2. Flex Dry: Offering two-way stretch, the Flex Dry fabric is very lightweight and breathable. Made of 90% polyester and 10% spandex, it offers a bit of stretch and moisture management.

  3. Dry Tec: The Dry Tec fabric is a microfiber material with pique moisture-wicking capabilities. It has a smooth, flat face with no texture. Dry Tec is made of 100% polyester.

  4. Dual Wick: Dual Wick is a midweight, double knit fabric that’s very breathable and ideal for single-ply reversible jerseys. It offers a mesh look and effectively wicks away moisture.

  5. Aerofiber: Lightweight, stretchable, and breathable, the Aerofiber fabric is one of our most advanced options. It gives players a four-way stretch for ultimate comfort on the court. It also features open pinhole mesh, moisture-wicking properties, and a makeup of 90% polyester and 10% spandex.

Our basketball jersey fabric options can help determine which is the best for your squad. You may want the double knit makeup of the Dual Wick or the ultimate stretch provided by the Aerofiber. If you’re still unsure of which will be the best for you, give us a call.

Visual Design

The way your team’s jerseys look means everything to the players, the school or league you represent, and to the community. Some companies are greatly limited in their design capabilities, which could negatively affect the outcome of your jerseys. What if the fonts aren’t right or the colors are the wrong hue? Buying new jerseys is a large investment, so you need to make it count.

At Dynamic, we’ve been in the business for over 30 years perfecting our craft in uniform construction, design, and sublimation. We have a strict commitment to quality, even down to the cutting and sewing process. No matter what type of design, colors, or look you want your jerseys to have, we can help make it a reality. We specialize in unique designs, not just those standard, tired designs you’ve seen other teams wearing. When you choose us for your basketball jerseys, the final result will have you and the team excited to get out on the hardwoods.
